Truth & Reconciliation and Residential Schools Collection

This collection features works that explore the history and lasting impacts of the Residential School system in Canada, as well as the ongoing process of Truth and Reconciliation. These books include personal memoirs, historical accounts, government reports such as the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) findings, and works by Indigenous authors and Knowledge Keepers. They offer insight into the experiences of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit children who were taken from their families, the intergenerational trauma caused by these institutions, and the resilience of Indigenous communities. The collection also supports learning and reflection for all readers seeking to engage with the truths of Canada’s colonial past and commit to meaningful Reconciliation.
